‘Pressure Pad’ is the latest release from fast-rising newcomers Folly Group. They’re known for their bold, experimental sound that borrows from everything from post-punk, to dance and Afro-Cuban music. This track is defined by angular guitars and frantic drumming, as well as 8-bit synth lines. It even unexpectedly drops us into a section led by trumpets. “Lyrically, it touches on someone else being a massive part of yourself, but loving it,” they say. “It’s about totally going with the flow of a relationship, becoming someone you never otherwise would have been, but not over-analysing that, rather being grateful for it.” Folly Group’s debut album, Down There! drops on January 12th, 2024 and the band are heading on an EU/UK tour in March and April. -Dan Peeke
